Buckingham County VDOT Enhancement Project
Total Budget – $276,555
The project includes construction of sidewalks, period street lighting, signage, and landscaping within the Buckingham County Courthouse Village.
Town of Dillwyn VDOT Enhancement Project
(Phase II)
Total Budget – $185,000
The project includes decorative street lighting, new and replacement sidewalks, new street signage, crosswalks, new outdoor seating areas, new storm water control facilities, and outdoor furniture within the Dillwyn Downtown area.
Charlotte County VCDBG/Southern Rivers Emergency Sewer Project
Total Budget - $1,567,150
Installation of approximately 23,000 LF of 6-inch force main connecting critical high volume users in the area of the Town of Charlotte Court House to the Town of Drakes Branch Wastewater Treatment Plant. This project will remediate an urgent health hazard through the elimination of failed and failing septic drain fields.
Cumberland County VDOT Enhancement Project (Courthouse Village)
Total Budget – $325,000
The project includes a feasibility study for converting a historic jail to a visitor’s center and museum, development of a schematic design for converting the historic jail to a visitor’s center, development of a walking trail, development of a comprehensive streetscape plan, enhancement of two parking lots, a study to develop a street lighting plan, and landscaping for the County schools, library, and historic jail. The project area is the Cumberland Courthouse Village.
Town of Burkeville Train Station VDOT Enhancement Project (IV)
Total Budget- $458,000
The project includes interior restoration and preservation of the Burkeville Train Station for use as a railroad museum, community center, tourist rest stop, park & ride, bus stop, and stop for bicyclists along US Bicycle Route 1. Landscaping and upgrading the parking and entrance road are also included. The CRC is assisting the Town with draw downs and review of documentation associated with the building and site work activities.
Town of Victoria VDOT Enhancement Streetscape Project (Phase I - Design)
Total Budget –$250,000
The project includes sidewalks and sidewalk improvements, crosswalks, streetlights, landscaping, and other activities in the Town’s central business district. During the first phase of the project, plans and designs will be developed to scope out the entire project.
Moton School Museum VDOT Enhancement Grant Project (III)
Total Budget – $287,480
The Moton Museum Inc., plans to improve the accessibility to the museum by adding additional parking spaces, installing new sidewalks and expanding existing ones, landscaping, designing and printing brochures for walking and bicycling tours, installing bicycle racks, installing interior and exterior kiosks, installing interior and exterior drinking fountains, and renovating a restroom to American Disability Act (ADA) standards.
Robert Russa Moton Museum Tobacco Grant (Windows and Insulation)
Total Budget - $116,000
The CRC will assist the Moton Museum in the administration of this Tobacco Grant. The Museum will be installing 10,000 SF of insulation in the facility's attic; restore or repair the window systems; and install UV windows for thermal effects.
